12/10 Blockfjorden and Bonfire
In the morning, we split into three groups. While some went for a hike, Boris and I stayed on the shore with his Flamingo. Unfortunately, the wind blew it away and it was not safe to walk alone due to the presence of Polar bears. So, we formed a new team to rescue the Flamingo. However, the whole adventure with the hot pink Flamingo lifted our spirits. Printing on the snow was becoming tiresome, but I discovered a frozen creek and printed on the ice around the air bubbles. Though my camera failed to capture everything, I repeated the process during the afternoon landing.
In the afternoon, we had an amazing bonfire experience. We collected driftwood from the shore, which was unique since there were no trees in Svalbard. It probably drifted from Siberia. We spent a great time around the warm fire, reading the book "Frankenstein" out loud.
My afternoon printing session was less successful since the ice started to turn slushy at the new landing site.
